History major Cameron Godfrey recently represented Dalton State College at the Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society Regional Conference at Mercer University.

He presented his paper, “Hull House, Henry Street and the Influence of Toynbee Hall,” sharing his research on the settlement house movement of the late nineteenth century. Godfrey is the first member of Dalton State College's Alpha-Omicron-Pi Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta to present at the regional PAT conference. 

In addition to Godfrey’s contribution, history major Karen M. Phillips submitted a paper for the PAT Conference. Her submission, “Amelia Earhart: Soaring Past the Feminine Mystique,” was also accepted; unfortunately, Phillips was unable to attend the conference.

Godfrey’s participation in this event allowed him to experience a component of the history profession, receive feedback from faculty and students, and share our Roadrunner reputation to others from across the state.
